We are here today with a special guest, Elton John, who just made his way through his last album. Hi, Elton, and welcome to A Night With Somebody.
I say it was about time you people invited me. I saw Stephen Amell the other day and, let me tell you, I did not like it a bit.

Is there something you would like to do right now?
Quite. Walk away on my legs.

I heard you are just back from a series of concerts in Tibet. How was your stay?
Actually, I lived 2 full weeks in a Tibetan monastery before realizing it was not the Hilton hotel. On the bright side, I learnt to bend fire, just a little.

What do you have in your pockets?
I got a heap of money in my pockets. You may watch them, you can ever lick them, but they are mine, all mine. My preciouss roll of notes...

When your are not singing, which is your favored pastime?
I think that collecting and painting garden gnomes rests my mind. I like to paint them in white and brown.

Indiana Jones, Lara Croft or Professor Layton?
Are these the only cooks you know?

I've heard you are writing a book on your life. Is it true?
Indeed! It is lamentable that I have little time, if any, to write. Last month I've read the summary of the abridged version of "Pride and Prejudice", and I found it more or less palatable. Hence, I've ordered my agent to contact the author - a certain Jane Austen - because I really need a ghost writer, but for the time being I've not received any answer.

Your zodiac sign is Aries. Are you a typical Aries?
Nope! I'm a little unfriendly, a bit sleepy, irresolute and antsy. My relatives say that I'm also a little inconsistent but that I think it is usual in artists.

Here is a list of numbers I have already excluded from being Elton John's home telephone number :

I scheduled a short talk with Elton John many weeks in advance. The resulting article was wondrous, like "The Big Sleep" rewritten by Harry Potter. Hence, it was very regrettable, to put it mildly, that my mother in law destroyed my only copy! After I left the padded cell, I attempted to remember those jaw-dropping words. So, to be aboveboard here: I'm not one hundred percent confident this web page contains a perfectly accurate chronicle of our interview, and I'm starting to be uncertain it ever happened...
