What’s in your pocket right now?
I got a heap of money in my pockets. You may stare at them, you can ever caress them, but they are mine, all mine. My preciouss roll of banknotes...
Could you tell us which is your earliest memory?
I have a very fuzzy and quite strange recollection. A bizarre fat cowboy is flying on a big cylinder, which seems a bomb. It is like he is plummeting from the sky. He is not afraid and he laughs and waves his hat.
Actually this is a famous scene from the movie "Dr. Strangelove".
The dickens! You may be right. Yesterday evening I took a nap at a rerun.
What's the strangest dream you’ve ever had?
I dreamed being reproached by the ghost of Nikola Tesla. In the meantime I kept yelling "I did not eat my cousin's panda".
I've heard you are writing a book on your life. Is it true?
Indeed! It is lamentable that I have little time to write. Last month I've read the inside flap of "The Road", and I found it acceptable. Thus, I've instructed my agent to call the author - a certain Cormac McCarthy - since I really need a ghost writer, but for the moment I've not received any answer.
Who are your heroes?
Ronald Reagan, Doctor Who, and myself.
You were right on the target in "The Silence of the Lambs". Were you given plenty of freedom to shape your character?
You bet! In the original screenplay my character was a university tutor. With red hair, caramba!
If I may say so, Jodie, you are also well known for your eccentric demands when staying in hotels. Is it true? Could you explain us why and maybe make an example of something you usually ask?
I can't stay anywhere without baby panda's tears or baobab bark delivered daily to my suite.
