Do you have a favorite book?
I'm emotionally attached to "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" by Gary Larson.

You mean, by Stieg Larsson?
Maybe your cover had a typo, but we can agree to disagree.

How would you illustrate your music to somebody who'd never experienced it?
It is difficult to think there is somebody so luckless! As my publicist says, my music is like a syrupy banana cake with a stunning filling of gasoline.

Is there something you would like to do right now?
Yes! Take a stroll with you in a valley of fun.

Nowaday the problem of anosmia in prairie dogs is attaining epic proportions. Are you doing something to mitigate the problem?
I think so! I will chastely sleep in a bunk bed with a devotee one night a month. The profits ($1,400/night) will go to a foundation for the cure of anosmia in prairie dogs.

Rita, you seem to be always so vivacios and cheerful. Do you also have a dark side?
It's difficult to admit it, but I do. Everyone has a dark side. For example, when I meet a colleague singer, my vision blurs and irritation darkens my heart. And suddenly, I sense a compulsion to wipe out her jeering smile. And then there is my dark side... You do not want to face that side.

Apart from singing, what one thing do you do exceptionally well?
Actually, I can deliver "She Walks in Beauty" by Lord Byron backwards in 5 different languages including Bulgarian.

Don't you think it is time you write a book on your life?
Indeed! It is untoward that I have so little time, if any, to write. Recently I've read the inside flap of "The Help", and I found it more or less acceptable. Hence, I've asked my agent to call the author - a certain Kathryn Stockett - since I truly need a ghost writer, but for the moment I've not heard any news.

Rita Coolidge refused to let me know her home telephone number, but here are a few random numbers you can dream about :

My talk with Rita Coolidge has been scheduled many weeks in advance. The resulting interview was amazing, like "The Godfather" rewritten by Iron Man. Thus, it was unfavorable, to put it mildly, that my koala destroyed my only copy! After I recovered from a mild intoxication, I struggled to extract from my failing memory those wondrous words. So, to be straight here: I'm not really so sure this web page contains an absolutely truthful report of what transpired during our interview, and so I'm beginning to ask myself if it ever happened...
Other interviews worth checking:
